On TBA, the AHS Alumni Band will again combine with the AHS Band. Last year over 200 marched, including over 120 alumni. The performance was a resounding success! THIS YEAR’S GOAL IS TO HAVE EVEN MORE PARTICIPANTS, END ZONE TO END ZONE! We strongly encourage you and anyone who was ever a member of the AHS Band, the 1930’s through 2008, to join us for the event.

THE PLAN: YOU Can Do It! (We’ve reduced the tempo to 114, and that helps.)
• Military style marching: Even of you have never marched 6 steps to 5 yards before, with a few practices, you’ll quickly learn.
• You don’t have to march or play an instrument, you can be included in the final formations. (A number of participants elected this option last year.)

THE PRELIMINARY PRACTICES:
• Preliminary Practices: Held every Thursday evening at 6:00 pm at AHS band hall starting September ??, 2007. After marching practice, an optional 20 minute playing rehearsal is held.

• Saturday Practices:  October ??, 1:00 to 3:00pm (hotdogs served at noon)

                                 October ??, 1:00 to 3:00pm

THE FINAL PRACTICES:

Please attend as many practices as you can, but even if you couldn’t attend earlier practices, you’re needed for the final practices.
• Thursday - TBA – 3:30 p.m. at AHS band hall
(All available marchers plus non-marchers who can attend.)
• Friday - TBA -10:30 a.m. at AHS band hall
(All marchers plus non-marchers who can attend. Luncheon will follow.)
• Friday - TBA – 3:45 p.m. at AHS stadium. (All participants.) (To perform in the half-time drill, all participants must attend this 3:45 rehearsal.)

• UNIFORM FOR GAME:  Black pants, black shoes, black socks, long sleeve white shirt (for use if weather is cold-sweater can be worn underneath) and Purple Pride T-shirt (provided)
• Participants will be admitted free to the game.
• If game tickets are needed for family members (non-participants) please contact AISD Athletics Department at 979-849-8206, extension 1505.
• Reception at Angleton Intermediate (Old High School) following the game (open to all.)
• Social event Saturday evening at the new Angleton Recreation Center. Reception, meal, music from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s. 00’s and the ”TRUX” performing live! Wear your Socks! BYOB

COSTS: The purpose of the event is a grand reunion of ex-AHS band members and to raise funds for AHS band scholarships.
• Participant level: To help cover the costs of the props, mailing, food, and the reunion following the game, we are requesting a registration fee. See registration form for fee options. All funds remaining after expenses will be used for the Angleton band program and future events.

Fill out the Registration Form and mail it in as soon as possible, at the latest by Friday, October ?? to ensure that a T-shirt is available for you. Please contact any "Purple Pride" exes you know about this occasion. Our contact lists are very limited, and we want to include as many as possible.
